What today is often perceived as an excavation or even a renewal of the repertoire may once have been a very common part of the latter.

This exhibition, with displays from the University of Cologne's Theater Studies Collection, searches for traces of the past of those operas that are or were performed as part of our FOKUS '33 research project.

With exhibits on ARABELLA, LEONORE 40/45, EIN FELDLAGER IN SCHLESIEN, LI-TAI-PE, AUFSTIEG UND FALL DER STADT MAHAGONNY, ASRAEL, DER SINGENDE TEUFEL and MOSES UND ARON, FOKUS '33 – DIE AUSSTELLUNG (Fokus '33 - The Exhibition) will be searching in three stages of about two and a half months each for traces of the past of the operas that will be performed or have been performed within the framework of the research project.

The exhibition curated by Dr Gerald Köhler and Thomas Kuchlbauer will open on December 8, 2022, at 5 p.m. and will be on view in the opera house's dressing room foyer until the end of the season.
